Transforming the Emotions
Friday September 8th - Thursday September 14th
at The Dharma Centre of Canada
Do you struggle with habitual emotional patterns?
On this retreat, we will address personality fragmentation that occurs when we don’t accept those parts of ourselves
that we view as negative. Join us on the road of transforming negative emotional states through acceptance and loving kindness.
This retreat will incorporate:
- guided imagination
- journaling
- exercise
- music listening
- classical meditation practices
... to provide a well-rounded approach to integrating these patterns.
Is this retreat suitable for me?
It is not a requirement that you have proficiency in meditation practice in order to attend and
benefit from this retreat. However some degree of mental focus and physical comfort will be assets
to gain the most from the meditation portion of this retreat.
Is this a silent retreat?
We will begin this retreat with the sharing of what you would like to enable in yourself with
your fellow retreatants.
As we move into the main body of the retreat,
you will be encouraged to restrict verbalization to occur during the classes only, for questions and the optional
sharing of your experiences. The purpose of this is to encourage the development of inner silence and
receptivity to the material that is arising, and reduce the distractions that come of interpersonal
conversations. As we near the end of the retreat, this restriction will be loosened as you may wish to
share your thoughts and feelings with others.
